100-Word Writing Challenge: Day 1

I used to be one of those people who wrote and published stories every day. It worked quite well for me until it didn’t. For the past two years, I’ve been in writer’s hell.

I would write about what got me blocked, but I’m too blocked to do it. I would write about all my attempts to rebuild a writing habit, but I’m too blocked for that as well.

This NaNoWriMo, while every writer out there churns out thousands of words into their novel drafts, I have settled into a much less ambitious goal: to get unstuck.

Ever since I joined Medium, I’ve been a fan of Johnson Kee’s 100 Naked Words challenge. Writing and sharing snippets every day, being vulnerable, learning in public. No matter how blocked one may feel, that’s always doable

I tried to get into the publication several times but never made it. This time, I decided to go and do the challenge by myself, in my own profile — no excuses.

If you run 26.2 miles around the block, it still counts as a marathon. Today, I’m taking my first step.
