Reflections from the Halfway Point
100-Day Writing Challenge, Day 15
In the beginning of the month, when thousands of writers were preparing to write their novel drafts for NaNoWriMo, I set myself a much less ambitious goal: writing and publishing at least 100 words every day in an attempt to finally get unstuck.
I am writing this post on the 15th and, quite surprisingly, I haven’t missed a day yet.
I wouldn’t dare say I am unblocked yet. I am taking this one day at a time.
For the first time in years, though, I am writing every day. I have recovered my love for short stories and even dabbled in poetry. If things continue the way they are, I may soon start calling myself a writer again.
These daily posts have been extremely helpful for my recovery. I see them as an open journal of my writing efforts; a commitment between myself and whoever wants to read this.
May the second half of the challenge be as fruitful as the first.
