Stuck in Christmas – I
It’s the night before Christmas, which only makes it worse. Like everyone else at the train station, I’m staring at the departures screen and talking on the phone.
“The last two trains didn’t run, honey. If they cancel the next one, I won’t make it.”
“It’s not your fault. I’ll tell Ben that you and Santa got stuck in the snow.”
As soon as we hang up, a new announcement appears:
10 PM — CANCELLED
NEXT SERVICE — 6 AM
Through the window of the station convenience store, a Santa doll laughs at me. I can’t help but laugh too.
