Stuck in Christmas – II
A 100-word story

I fell asleep on a bench at the station, dreaming of all the cancelled trains on that snowy Christmas Eve, and woke up in the morning to the sound of the 6 AM service approaching the platform.
I spent the whole journey cursing work, rehearsing my apology, thinking of the look of disappointment on my son’s face.
Instead, I saw a big smile when I opened the door.
“Daddy! Is it true that you and Santa got stuck in the snow together?”
The presents were under the tree. We would have turkey sandwiches for breakfast. Christmas had waited for me.
